I’ve always loved these dressers I ordered from the Spiegel catalog (long before Amazon existed). Back in the day, I paged through a print catalog and saw these beauties. I love their curvy lines, texture, and ample storage. A few years later, I traced the tops’ shape and had custom glass tops cut, so dusting was a breeze, the body gets vacuumed. The metal pulls needed a punch, so I added metal medallions to level up.
We used it in our home for a few decades on either side of our bed. We later moved them into our temporary home, and they didn’t fit, so we tucked one in the kitchen and one in my closet. We had the perfect placement for them in the master bedroom where we needed them in this current condo.
Look around your home for accent furniture that could be re-styled to breathe new life into it.
I’d love to see what you are working on in your home.
To re-style these dressers, I decided spray paint was my best option.
Step#1 Vacuumed and removed hardware.
Step#2 Spray painted the hardware in a metallic mirror
Step#3 Sprayed body and drawer fronts with mat black multiple times from different angles to get into the crevices.
Step#4 Added pretty parisan drawer paper
Cost:
3 cans black spray paint = $18
1 can mirror spray paint = $6
